Terms & Policies
This is the personal portfolio of Chim Zoe Catalan ("CZ", "I", "me"). By using this website you agree to the terms on this page. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
1. About this site
This is a personal, non-commercial website. It shows my work, my writing, and my background. Nothing is sold here, there are no accounts, and there are no advertisements or affiliate links.
The content is general information about my own work. It is not professional, legal, or financial advice, and it is not an offer of services.
The opinions on this site are my own. They are not those of my employer, past employers, or any company named on the site.
2. Logos and trademarks
I am not sponsored by, endorsed by, affiliated with, or partnered with any company, product, or tool whose name or logo appears on this website. The logos are shown for one purpose only: to identify the tools I use in my own work.
This site shows the names and logos of third-party products and services, mainly under "tools I reach for" on the About Me page, and in the icons that link to my own social profiles. About that use:
- The logos belong to their owners. Every product name, logo, and brand on this site is the property of its owner. I claim no ownership of, or rights in, any of them.
- They are used only to identify. A logo here means "this is a tool I have worked with" and nothing more. It is not an advertisement, a recommendation, a partnership, or a claim that the owner has reviewed or approved this site or my work.
- Nobody paid for or requested it. No company asked for, paid for, or provided anything in exchange for its logo appearing here, and I earn nothing from showing them.
- They are shown as they are. Each logo is resized to fit one tile size. Where a file included the product name, I show the symbol on its own. The logos are not redrawn or recolored.
- Two tiles stand in for a language. The tile labelled "SQL" uses the MySQL logo and the tile labelled "VBA" uses the Visual Basic logo, as the closest familiar marks for those languages.
The marks shown include, among others:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Sheets, BigQuery, Gemini, and Chrome, which are trademarks of Google LLC.
- Excel, Visual Basic, Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft Clarity, which are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies.
- Zoho CRM, Zoho Analytics, Zoho Marketing Automation, and Deluge, which are trademarks of Zoho Corporation.
- Claude and Claude Code, which are trademarks of Anthropic.
- ChatGPT and Codex, which are trademarks of OpenAI.
- GitHub and the Invertocat logo, which are trademarks of GitHub, Inc.
- Python and the Python logo, which are trademarks of the Python Software Foundation.
- MySQL, which is a trademark of Oracle and/or its affiliates.
- Tableau, which is a trademark of Tableau Software, a Salesforce company.
- Dota 2, The International, and Steam, which are trademarks of Valve Corporation. The TI Champions Bot project is a fan project built for the game.
- Git, which is a trademark of Software Freedom Conservancy. The Git logo is by Jason Long and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.
- pandas, Matplotlib, Vtiger, Lusha, Apollo, Clay, Pipileads, Mailmeteor, ZeroBounce, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Gmail, whose names and logos belong to their respective owners. Cloudflare and Resend, named in the privacy section, belong to their owners too.
Several of the icons come from the open-source Devicon set (MIT license). That license covers the icon files, not the trademarks they depict.
The data studies also name third-party brands, such as Netflix and Pokémon, because those are the subjects of the datasets I analyzed. Those names, and the Pokémon type icons, belong to their owners. The studies are independent analysis and are not connected to those companies.
Rights holders: if you own or represent one of these marks and want it removed or shown differently, email me at catalanchimzoe.business@gmail.com and I will change or remove it promptly.
3. Projects, dashboards, and sample data
The projects describe tools and dashboards I designed and built. Tool names are generic, and the write-ups cover approaches and results.
- The dashboards on this site show sample data. Company, client, vendor, website, campaign, and people names in them are sample names, and phone numbers are masked. Any resemblance to a real person or organization is a coincidence.
- Figures marked as illustrative are illustrative. They show the shape of the work, not a real database.
- The sample workbook and the search demo on the project pages use made-up data. The companies, people, and counts in them are invented, and any resemblance to a real person or organization is a coincidence.
- The "Just for fun" projects are side projects. I planned them and wrote the prompts, and AI tools wrote the code. Facts in them come from the public sources they link to, carry their year, and may since have changed.
- Results quoted in a case study, such as time saved, describe that specific piece of work. They are not a promise of the same result anywhere else.
- The certificates on the About Me page show courses and certifications I completed. They belong to me and to the organizations that issued them, and they do not make me a representative or partner of those organizations. Please don't copy, alter, or reuse them.
4. Copyright and using my content
Unless stated otherwise, the text, case studies, charts, images, design, and code on this site are © Chim Zoe Catalan. All rights reserved.
You are welcome to:
- read and share links to any page;
- quote short passages, with credit to me and a link to the source page;
- look through the site and its code for personal, non-commercial learning.
Please don't, without my written permission:
- copy, republish, or redistribute the content or the design;
- present my projects, write-ups, or certificates as your own;
- use the content for commercial purposes.
Datasets offered for download on a data study or insight page come with their own note about where the data came from, who owns it, and how it may be used. That note applies to that dataset.
The site is built with open-source software, each under its own license: Astro, three.js, and Vanta.js (MIT), Cap (Apache License 2.0), and the Space Grotesk and Montserrat typefaces (SIL Open Font License).
5. Accuracy and no warranty
I try to keep this site accurate and up to date, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. I don't guarantee that the content is complete, current, or free of errors, or that the site will always be available. If you rely on anything here, you do so at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site, from relying on its content, from the site being unavailable, or from any site it links to. Nothing on this page limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
7. Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including LinkedIn, GitHub, and Facebook. I don't control those sites and I am not responsible for their content or for how they handle your data. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave this site.
8. Privacy
This site is built to collect as little as possible. It has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking scripts. Its pages do not set cookies. The one form, on the Get in Touch page, sends what you write to my inbox and nothing more.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical details of each visit, including your IP address, to serve the site and keep it secure. I don't use those details to track visitors. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
- Embedded dashboards. The dashboards are files stored on this site, but they load a font from Zoho's content delivery network. When you open one, your browser makes a request to Zoho's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser details, as with any web request. What you do inside a dashboard is not sent anywhere.
- Search demo. The demo on the Search & Filter Engine page runs entirely in your browser. What you type into it is not sent or stored anywhere.
- Globe Trivia. The live globe on that project page runs from another of my GitHub Pages sites and loads only after you press Start (or open it in its own tab). It then loads fonts from Google Fonts and flag images from flagcdn.com, so those services receive your IP address and basic browser details, as with any web request. The globe has no tracking or analytics of its own.
- Contact form. When you press Send, your name, email address, and message go to a small program I run on Cloudflare Workers, which passes them to Resend, an email service, to deliver to my inbox. Neither this site nor that program stores the message. Cloudflare sees your IP address, as with any web request; the program uses it only to limit how many messages one address can send in a minute and does not keep it. Resend may keep a record of delivered emails for a limited time under its own privacy policy; see also Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Spam check. Before a message is sent, a check called Cap runs in your browser. It loads only once you start filling in the form, and it solves a small puzzle that keeps your processor busy for a moment, which is cheap for one person and costly for a spam bot. Its files are served from this site. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and collects nothing about you.
- Email. If you email me or write to me with the form, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply to you. I don't sell it, share it, or add it to a mailing list, and I will delete it if you ask.
- Children. This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), and under laws such as the GDPR where they apply to you, you may ask what personal data I hold about you and ask me to correct or delete it. Email me at catalanchimzoe.business@gmail.com. You may also raise a concern with the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.
9. Security and reporting a problem
This is a static website with no login and no database, so there is nothing behind the pages to sign in to or break into. The only code that runs on a server is the contact-form program described in section 8, which accepts messages and does nothing else. Everything on the site is meant to be public.
- The repository is checked automatically for passwords, keys, and private files before anything is published.
- Please don't try to disrupt the site, probe it with automated tools in a way that harms it, or collect its content in bulk for reuse. Section 4 covers how the content may be used.
- If you find something that should not be public, such as personal information or a security problem, or if you believe content here infringes your rights, email me at catalanchimzoe.business@gmail.com. I will look into it and remove or fix it promptly.
10. Changes, governing law, and contact
I may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
